1. The filing of nominations for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections will end today. The Elections will be held in 88 Lok Sabha seats in 12 States and Union Territories along with the remaining part of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency in this phase.

3. Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for the management of heat-related illness in the summer season.

The Election Commission has directed Chief Secretaries and Director General of Police of all States and Union Territories to keep a strict vigil along interstate and international borders to plug the inflow of illicit liquor, cash, drugs, arms and freebies. 5. Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Apurva Chandra launched the myCGHS app for the iOS ecosystem of devices in New Delhi. The app is designed to enhance access to Electronic Health Records, information, and resources for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries. The App was already available for the Android system.

1. The Government has said that media reports claiming significant hike in prices of medicines are false and misleading. The Union Health Ministry said, these reports further claim that more than 500 medicines will be affected by the increase in price.

1. Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi inaugurated the Param Vir Chakra garden and Aikyam exhibition the Kanchi Mahaswami Vidya Mandir in Tambaram. The garden showcases the history and statues of the 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees, India’s highest military decoration for valor.

Pawanputra Hanuman was an incarnation of Lord Shiva and is considered to be an exemplification of strength, devotion, and perseverance.
Anjana, a beautiful Apsara in celestial palace court of Lord Brahma was cursed by a sage that, the moment she fell in love her face would transform to that of a monkey. Lord Brahma thought of helping her and she took birth on Earth. Later, Anjana fell in love with Kesari, the monkey king and they both married each other. Being an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, she continued with her tapasya to please the God. Lord Shiva was impressed and she wished him to be her son so that she would be freed from the curse of the sage.
Few days later, King Dasrath was performing a yagna after which the sage gave him kheer to feed all his wives. A portion of Kaushlya, his eldest wife, was snatched by a kite who flew all the way where Anjana was meditating. Lord Vayu (aka Pawan – Wind) on the signal of Lord Shiva kept the khee r in Anjana’s hand. Thinking it as Lord Shiva’s prasad Anjana ate it and thus gave birth to his incarnation – Pawan Putra Hanuman , the son of the Lord of the Winds.
